Nestled on 1,000 hectares of farmland within the site of the first WWF Oasis in Italy, the 20 farmhouses at the Terre di Sacra in Capalbio, in the Tuscan Maremma, are surrounded by fields stretching to the dune that separates them from the sea.
Renovated in the last 15 years, they retain the typical features of the Maremma farm, adapted for holiday purposes: living area with a large dining room, lounge, study and utility rooms; the sleeping quarters, with several bedrooms (6 or 7) each one with a bathroom and cloakroom. In fine weather just enjoy the garden from a spacious veranda.
The 20 houses can be divided in two types: those on two floors, which recall the style of agrarian reform farms, and the "tabacchini" (built when tobacco was cultivated) consisting of two adjacent buildings that can be used independently.
Equipped with a large garden surrounded by fields, some farmhouses have views extending to the dune, while others overlook Lake Burano, all with private access to the sea.
Most of the houses on the estate are rented for multi-year periods, while others are available as short-term rentals.
The farmhouses are easily reachable from Fiumicino Airport, just over 100 km (one hour drive) and Grosseto Airport (for private flights) just over 50 km.
A trusted on-site staff is available for household chores.
