Unique experiences at Terre di Sacra: horse riding in the WWF Oasis

Maremma is a land that loves horses and horse riders. Horse riding the territory of the Tenuta di Sacra is a unique experience.

There are few other places where you can find yourself wandering through stretches of sandy routes within the Mediterranean maquis and suddenly bump into the Buranaccio Tower rising above the strip of land between Lake of Burano and the seaside.  

Starting from your villa you can horse ride along the cultivated land of the Tenuta, reach the sand dunes and get to the longest beach where you can horse ride on the seashore, from autumn until spring, and enjoy such an untouched coastline.

Visit WWF Oasis of Lake of Burano

You won’t need to go far to discover the salty lake of the Burano Oasis, the sand dunes and WWF’s Visitor Center.

A holiday at Terre di Sacra can make you experience a direct contact with nature: Lake of Burano is inhabited by migratory and non-migratory birds, on sand dunes you will meet flowers and mushrooms that cannot be seen elsewhere and the pinewood protects plants and mammals which cannot certainly be seen in town.

Great egrets and grey herons, ospreys, Northern shovelers and the wonderful Greater flamingos have a strong naturalistic appeal and represent Italy’s pride worldwide.
