Terre di Sacra alongside Capalbio Libri 2026: where culture, territory and beauty come together

Terre di Sacra, Capalbio Events Maremma

Terre di Sacra supports the pleasure of reading

Once again this year Capalbio Libri, brought the summer evenings of Capalbio to life with books, encounters and conversations exploring contemporary issues. An event that has become an integral part of summer in the Maremma, and one that Terre di Sacra is proud to support once again.

The 20th edition of Capalbio Libri, held from 1 to 8 August 2026, marked an important milestone in the history of the festival dedicated to the “pleasure of reading”: twenty years of encounters with writers, journalists and leading figures from the worlds of culture, media, economics and contemporary society.

Twenty years of Capalbio Libri

Founded in 2007 from an idea by Andrea Zagami, who continues to direct the festival today, Capalbio Libri has developed a deep connection with the local area over the years, transforming Capalbio for a few summer evenings into a special place for encounters, reading and dialogue.

The festival is promoted by the “Il piacere di leggere” Association and organised by Zigzag, with the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Capalbio and Fondazione Capalbio.

The twentieth edition also marked the beginning of a new chapter with the  Teatro del Leccio, the new open-air venue on Via Giovanni Pascoli, designed by Dutch architect Maurice Nio. A new setting for the festival’s events, overlooking the historic village of Capalbio and its ancient walls.

Andrea Zagami has highlighted how this new venue could become a true home for Capalbio Libri and, more broadly, help create a cultural programme extending beyond the summer season. A vision that reflects the important role culture can play in the vitality and identity of a place.

Terre di Sacra and its connection with Capalbio

For Terre di Sacra, supporting Capalbio Libri means contributing to a project that reflects values deeply rooted in our own identity: a strong connection with the land, the preservation of its character and the creation of authentic opportunities for people to meet and share experiences.

Capalbio is not simply one of the best-known villages in the Tuscan Maremma. It is a place where nature, culture, art and history have always coexisted, continuing to inspire new experiences.

It is part of the same landscape that Terre di Sacra calls home: one thousand hectares of nature along the Capalbio coast, between the sea and the WWF Lago di Burano Nature Reserve, where for generations we have worked to preserve and enhance a unique natural and cultural heritage.

For this reason, we believe that supporting initiatives such as Capalbio Libri is also a way of caring for the place to which we belong, helping to keep it vibrant and inspiring not only for those who live here, but also for those who choose to discover it and return.

Culture, nature and territory: summer in Capalbio

Capalbio Libri is one of the events that each summer reveals the many sides of this corner of Tuscany. A day spent between the sea and nature can continue in the village, with a walk along its ancient walls, dinner and an evening encounter with an author.

It is this combination of nature, culture and hospitality that makes a stay in Capalbio and the Maremma so special.

We would like to thank Andrea Zagami, the organisers, authors, guests and everyone who took part in the 20th edition of Capalbio Libri, once again making the festival one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Capalbio summer.

We are delighted to have been part of it again this year and to continue supporting initiatives that, from different perspectives, celebrate and promote the richness of our territory.
