You can reach it by driving the coastal road and then following the signs for about one kilometer until the parking area by the seaside. During summer, especially at weekends, we suggest leaving your car at the car park along the SP coastal road and take the free shuttle bus to Macchiatonda.
Dark sand, crystal-clear waters, untouched and wild beach. When the weather is fine, in winter too, it takes about a 20-minute walk to get to Lake of Burano and Buranaccio Tower and the walk is pretty enjoyable.
You can go to Macchiatonda’s beach bringing with you your own sun umbrellas, sunbeds and deck chairs. However, especially if you have young children or you just want to take it easier, we suggest trying Club La Macchia, a private club open to members only.
This private club is a charming beach club, equipped with all amenities. At La Macchia Club, not only you can find all the equipment you need to fully enjoy a day at the beach but also bar services, a restaurant and an area for private events.
La Macchia Club’s amazing terrace overlooking the sea is the perfect place where you can drink your cocktail while watching the sunset after a lovely day on the seaside.
Dogana’s beach is south of Terre di Sacra, at about seven kilometers from Lake of Burano. The free beach is very long both towards Macchiatonda and towards Lazio. Dunes of soft sand gently slope down to the crystal-clear sea and the scented Mediterranean maquis.
At Dogana you will find La Dogana di Capalbio beach club equipped with everything you need to spend a relaxing day at the seaside. Children will be glad to spend time at the playground designed for them while adults will read newspapers and magazines at the reading area in front of the sea.
